WORK VISA - Work visa provides a pathway to securing residence to those who wish to migrate to New Zealand but do not qualify under the Skilled Migrant Category.There are a number of work visa policies such as, Work to Residence (WTR) policy, Silver Fern Work Policy and Study To Work policy. WTR policy provides a direct link to residence whereas Silver Fern Work policy and Study To Work policy are a step towards securing residence under Skilled Migrant Category.Basic requirements under each policy are provided hereunder.

WTR visa policy provides pathway to talented professionals and experienced business persons to secure Residence Visa after working for 2 years on temporary work visa
Talented Professionals: talented professionals with skilled job offer are issued temporary work visa for 30 months under the below mentioned work visa policies. Your job offer will not be subjected to Labour Market Test and work visa under WTR policy provides a direct link to secure Residence Visa under Residence From Work policy after working for 2 years and meeting visa conditions:

Long Term Skill Shortage Occupation: If you have a skilled job offer in an occupation on the LTSSL, you may qualify for work visa for 30 months.

Talent (Accredited Employer): If your occupation is not on LTSSL, you may qualify for work visa for 30 months if you are sponsored by an accredited employer

Talent (Arts, Culture & Sports): If you have exceptional talent in Arts & Culture or international reputation in Sports and are supported by a New Zealand organization of repute, you may qualify for work visa for 30 months
Long Term Business Visa (LTBV): experienced business persons and senior executives in overall charge of business wishing to set up or purchase a business in New Zealand are issued Long Term Business Visa (LTBV) for 3 years. LTBV is a temporary work visa and provides a direct link to secure Residence Visa under entrepreneur Categorry after successfully managing business for 2 years. SILVER FERN WORK VISA POLICY
This policy allows Skilled applicants to come to New Zealand to secure skilled employment and upon securing skilled job offer, qualify for 2 years Work visa. Skilled job offer scores 50 points and enhances prospects of securing Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category

Silver Fern Job Search Visa - This is an open work visa for 9 months to come to New Zealand and search for skilled employment. There is strong demand for JSV and the annual quota of 300 visas is taken up quickly

Silver Fern Practical Experience Visa - If you obtain skilled job offer while holding JSV, you will be eligible for a 2 year Practical Experience Work Visa.
Temporary Work VISA
Temporary work visa under this policy provides a step towards securing Residence Visa by increasing your points score to qualify under Skilled Migrant Policy.

ISSL Occupations: to qualify, you must have job offer in an occupation on the ISSL. Job offers under ISSL work visa policy are not subjected to Labour Market Test.

If your occupation is not on LTSSL or ISSL: if you do not have an LTSSL or ISSL occupation, but have a job offer from an approved employer to recruit overseas workers, you may qualify.Job offers are subjected to Labour Market Test.
STUDY TO WORK VISA POLICY
This policy allows students to work for 1 year after completing eligible qualification and upon obtaining skilled employment, secure a further work visa for 2 years. New Zealand qualification and skilled Job Offer scores up to 125 points and students will qualify for Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category.

Grauate Job Search Visa: Upon completion of eligible qualification, you will be granted 1 year Graduate Job Search Visa to enable you to search for skilled employment. This is an open work visa issued without a job offer and you can work for any employer while you find skilled employment

Graduate Work Experience Visa: Upon securing skilled job offer, you will qualify for Graduate Work Experience Visa for 2 years, to enable you to obtain practical work experience suitable to your qualification. New Zealand qualification and skilled job offer scores sufficient points to qualify for Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category, if you wish to settle in New Zealand
