Three Hundred and Five (305) EOIs were selected in invitation round held on 9 May 2018 under Australia SkillSelect General Skilled Migration Program:

  1. Skilled - Independent Visa (SC 189) - 300 EOIs - cut-off points 75
  2. Skilled - Regional Provisional Visa (SC 489) - 5 EOIs - cut-off points 80

PRO-RATA SELECTIONS

Due to continued high demand, the following occupations are subjected to pro-rata selections to ensure that selections are spread throughout the year (July 2017 - June 2018) and not exhausted early in the year. Points score for these occupations in 9 May 2018 selection round was as under:

  1. Occupation Code 2211 - Accountants - Points Score 80
  2. Occupation Code 2212 - Auditors, Co. Secretaries and Treasurers - Points Score 80
  3. Occupation Code 2334 - Electronics Engineer - Points Score 75
  4. Occupation Code 2335 - Industrial, Mechanical & Prod. Engineers - Points Score 75
  5. Occupation Code 2339 - Other Engineering Professionals - Points Score 75
  6. Occupation Code 2611 - ICT Business and Systems Analyst - Points Score 75
  7. Occupation Code 2613 - Software and Applications Programmers - Points Score 75
  8. Occupation Code 2631 - Computer Network Professionals - Points Score 75

STATE AND TERRITORY NOMINATIONS

State and Territory Nominated Visas (SC 190) are not subject to occupation ceilings. Also, EOIs of those nominated are selected from the pool automatically and they are invited to apply for residence visa. In April 2018, One Thousand Three Hundred Ninety Eight (1,398) applicants received State and Territory Nominations with Victoria (438), NSW (389), Queensland (162) and South Australia (152) nominating the highest number of applicants.

NEXT SELECTION ROUND

The next selection round is expected to take place on 23 May 2018. Invitation numbers will depend upon the number of applications being processed by the department.
