RESULT OF 21 OCTOBER SELECTION ROUND

One Hundred and Ten (110) EOIs were selected in the invitation round held on 21 October 2020 for Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491) - Family Sponsored) as under:

  1. Skilled Independent Visa (SC 189) - 30 EOIs - cut-off points 65
  2. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (SC 491) - Family Sponsored - 80 EOIs - cut-off points 65

PRO-RATA SELECTIONS

Due to high demand, the following Occupations are subjected to pro-rata selections to ensure that selections are spread throughout the year (July 2020 - June 2021) and not exhausted early in the year. Points score for these occupation groups in 21 October 2020 selection round was as under:

  1. Occupation Code 2211 - Accountants - NA
  2. Occupation Code 2212 - Auditors, Company Secretaries and Treasurers - NA
  3. Occupation Code 2334 - Electronics Engineer - NA
  4. Occupation Code 2335 - Industrial, Mechanical & Production Engineers - NA
  5. Occupation Code 2339 - Other Engineering Professionals - NA
  6. Occupation Code 2611 - ICT Business and Systems Analyst - NA
  7. Occupation Code 2613 - Software and Applications Programmers - NA
  8. Occupation Code 2631 - Computer Network Professionals - NA

SKILLED NOMINATED VISA (SUBCLASS 190)

Skilled Nominated visas (subclass 190) are not subject to occupation ceilings. Also, EOIs of those nominated are selected from the pool automatically and they are invited to apply for residence visa. In September 2020, One Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Two (1,260) applicants received nominations from State and Territory Governments with New South Wales (313), Victoria (309), Tasmania (256), South Australia (170) and Australian Capital Territory (125) nominating the highest number of applicants.

NEXT SELECTION ROUND

EOI selection rounds for the remainder of the year (upto 30 June 2021) will now be held quarterly. Accordingly, next selection round is expected to be held around 21 January 2021.
