AUSTRALIA RESIDENCE VISA - Migrate to Australia, world's sixth largest country with growing economy. Australia has a healthy economy, widely regarded as the best performing amongst first world countries, has lower unemployment and high growth prospects. Australia has lately made significant changes to the General Skilled Migration (GSM) policy and has also signalled it's intention to introduce a two step General Skilled Migration Policy (GSM) effective from July 2012 - applicants initially submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to migrate to Australia and than submit Australia Residence Visa application if invited to do so.

Skilled Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa - Sponsored by relative living in a designated area

Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible you must meet the following basic requirements
- score 65 or more marks
- be aged 49 years or under
- meet Health, Character, English language and Australian Value Statement requirements
- nominate an occupation on the Skill Shortage List (SOL) and obtain positive skills assessment
- meet Australian studies requirement or have skilled employment for 12 months within last 24 months

Australia encourages 'employer sponsored' migration and accords highest priority for processing of such visa applications to manage its migration programme and achieve desired outcomes. The following visas are available under Employer Sponsored migration

Labour Agreements
New Zealand Citizens
New Zealand Citizens do not need;visa to travel to Australia and provided they meet health and character requirements, are granted Special Category Visa (SCV) upon arrival in Australia. SCV allows New Zealand Citizens to live, work and study iin Australia indefinitely. However on SCV, you cannot access certain social security payments or obtain Australian citizenship or sponsor family members for permanent residence and if you wish to do so, you must obtain Australia Residence Visa.
