Course DURATION & COST OF STUDY IN NEW ZEALAND
The course duration ranges between 3-5 years for Degree qualification, 1 year for Postgraduate qualification, an additional 1 year after PGD for Masters and 3 years for Doctorate qualification. Annual course fees are as under (in NZD)
Degree - 21,000 - 26,000
Postgraduate - 18,000 - 23,000
Masters - 24,000 - 30,000
Doctorate - 5,500
You will need to provide for living expenses - lodging, boarding and incidentals - at NZD 15,000 per annum plus return tickets and cost of medical examination.
WORK OPTIONS FOR STUDENTS
- while studying - 20 hours a week during course duration and 40 hours during annual break
- upon completion of recognized qualification - 1 year open Graduate Job Search Visa
- with Skilled Job Offer post - qualification - 2 year Practical Experience Work Visa
The minimum wage in New Zealand is NZD 13 per hour and at minimum wage, students could earn up to NZD 16,640 per annum during studies. Earnings on student Job Search Visa will depend upon qualification, past work experience and students profile and range between NZD 25,000 to NZD 32,000 per annum. Similarly earnings with skilled job offer on Practical Experience Work Visa will depending upon qualifications and work experience and range between NZD 35,000 to NZD 45,000 per annum.
STUDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS
You need to submit offer of admission letter, certified copies of passport, medical report, birth certificate, IELTS result, qualifications, work experience and 6 months Bank statements (as evidence of funds). Funds can be from students or relatives or anyone supporting the student and must be earned lawfully. Processing times vary between 2 weeks for positive profile applicants to 12 weeks for queued applicants.

WORK OPTIONS FOR PARTNER
Partners of students studying for post-graduate qualifications or degree qualifications at Level 7 or higher in an occupation on the Long Term Skill Shortage List qualify for open work visa for same duration as partner's study visa and can work for any employer.
DEPENDENT children
Dependent children are issued visit or study visa, as applicable and study at domestic fees (free) in primary & secondary schools.
