Study in New Zealand - Changes to New Zealand Student Visa Policy

The following are some of the key changes to the New Zealand student visa policy:

1.    visa officers to ensure that students study in NZ, at good quality education providers only 
2.    second job search visa available for a second higher qualification at Degree or higher level
3.    partner visa only if studying for postgraduate qual. or LTSSL qual. at Degree or higher level 
4.    maintenance funds (Living Expenses) to increase from NZ $10,000 p.a. to NZ $15,000
5.    funds for Graduate Job Search Visa will increase from NZ $2,100 to NZ $4,200 

Changes at (1) to (4)  are effective from 25 July 2011 and at (5) and (6) from March 2012.
